Chunghwa Telecom presented smart-traffic and big-data applications at the 2024 Smart City exhibition. A purpose-built interactive model attracted media and invited guests to explore its use of 5G and big data.

5G Applications for Traffic Management

One focus was high-precision user positioning through 5G base stations to help manage traffic and guide crowds during large events or emergencies. The presentation also explained network slicing as a dedicated communication channel for ambulances, supporting fast, stable links with medical institutions.

An Integrated Display

The model combines a large OLED screen, animated scenarios and an upright tablet control station. Lighting guides visitors through the physical scene, helping them see how the data relates to real applications.
