Academia Sinica | Moving Ocean-Current Generator Model
Showcase
Marine Energy Research × A Physical Demonstration
Academia Sinica commissioned Maxmodel to build a model of an ocean-current generator operating on the seabed. The display communicates research into Taiwan's marine-energy resources.
Dynamic Operation × Precise Controls
A button starts two generator units rotating inward at the same speed. Programmed controls and quiet motors provide steady movement to illustrate the generating principle.
Practical Dimensions × Exhibition Formats
The model measures approximately 130 cm long by 60 cm wide. Its size supports both temporary and permanent exhibitions.
Ocean Colors × Wave-Textured Base
An ocean-colored base with ripple patterns reinforces the marine setting and complements the generators' movement.
Integrated Design × Fabrication and Electronics
Maxmodel coordinated design discussions, fabrication and electronic controls. Details were refined for appearance and durability.
Research Communication × Visible Principles
The finished model combines controlled movement and a marine setting to explain ocean-current generation and introduce visitors to the potential of marine energy.
